UnitingCare Children’s Services is a member of UnitingCare Children, Young People and Families which is a Service Group of UnitingCare NSW.ACT. Our services, operated in cooperation with Uniting Church congregations across New South Wales and the ACT, provide quality early childhood education, care and support to more than 6,000 children during the early stages of their development.
Our goal of ‘nurturing confident and creative learners’ is the primary focus of all that we do across our Long Day Care, Preschool, Outside School Hours Care and Occasional Care (Before and After School Hours Care and Vacation Care) services.
UnitingCare Children’s Services is committed to providing accessible children’s services that are affordable and of the highest quality delivered in a not-for-profit, community service approach.
Working in partnership with parents, we aim to nurture the development and growth of children, enabling them to flourish in the critical formative years. We believe that by encouraging positive learning experiences in these early years, we can help children establish pathways towards successful life opportunities. This means we provide learning experiences for all children. Our specialist services support children with additional needs, those who are at risk and those living in vulnerable families.
UnitingCare Children’s Services licenses, coordinates, resources and oversees local services, which are operated through Management Committees. These committees comprise local Church and parent representatives. A number of services are also directly provided by UnitingCare Children’s Services.
A signature strength of UnitingCare Children’s Services is the high degree of support received from the local church and broader community. UnitingCare Children’s Services enables effective community capacity building and a sense of shared ownership of each children’s service.
UnitingCare Children’s Services also provides:
• Training and support for staff and Management Committees in areas such as child protection, quality management and safety.
• Resources, policy and procedures that reflect our commitment to children.
• Human resources, financial management and other areas of expertise that support our commitment to high quality children’s services.
